Motion State Records is a boutique independent record label based in Rhode Island and specializing in Hip Hop and R&B music. Our name and logo, which are both spins on the state name (the Ocean State) and seal, consists of an anchor enclosed in the circle of universal brother/sisterhood, a pair of male & female break-dancers, the letters "D, M, G, B & E" (symbolizing the principles of DJ-ing, MC-ing, Graffiti, Breakdancing and Entrepreneurship) and the words "Dope Since 1974" indicating the approximate inception of Hip Hop culture. The mission of Motion State Records is curating otherwise undiscovered talent, maintaining a strong connection to the street and expanding the reach of Hip Hop culture.
